Unique, Fun, and FREE Way To Raise Money For Your Favorite Charity Or Non-Profit


Tired of the same old boring fundraisers? 

I can help!     


I run an indoor charity boot camp every Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M. All you need to do is reserve a date and start inviting people.

Fitness boot camp workouts are fun, challenging, comprehensive training sessions that address all areas of fitness - total body strength, fat loss, balance, cardiovascular, muscular endurance and flexibility. 


The session will last approximately 45 minutes and include a warmup and a cooldown.

Workouts involve primarily body weight and dumbbell exercises. All fitness levels are invited. Anyone, 12 and over, is welcome to participate. (Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)


Don’t let the term “boot camp” scare you; the workouts are challenging but will be adapted to the fitness level of the participant. Those who aren't in great shape should not be afraid to join in. 

You can have each participant pay/donate a set amount and/or encourage them get sponsors. 100% of the money donated or raised by your participants goes to your charity. I donate my time, the equipment, and use of the facility- there is absolutely no charge to you or the organization.

Hang out with friends, have some fun, get some exercise and raise money for a worthy cause. What better way to spend 45 minutes on a Saturday morning?

Workout For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Saturday, May 17th


Join me this Saturday, May 17th for a fun and challenging group workout to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.



Because of treatments invented at St. Jude, the overall childhood cancer survival rate has increased from 20%, when it opened in 1962, to more than 80% today.


As opposed to some other researchers, the team at St. Jude freely shares their medical breakthroughs. Every child saved at St. Jude allows doctors and scientists throughout the world to use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

 

Our workout will begin at 9 AM and last approximately 45 minutes, including warmup and cooldown. Please spread the word among your co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family. 

Requested donation is $20 or $20 or more in sponsor donations. If you can't exercise with us, please consider sponsoring a participant.

All fitness levels are invited. Exercises will be adapted or substituted, as necessary. Anyone 12 and older is welcome to join us.

It really helps if I have an idea of how many people to expect so, if possible, please let me know ahead of time that you’re coming. Then again, if you decide last minute, just come on down. Raising as much money as possible is obviously the goal.

From The Raving Fans Dept. - No Pink Dumbbells Boot Camp

Love this place! I've been taking classes for 2 years and I feel fantastic! I'm stronger than I have ever been.

When I started, I had never done a "real" pushup in my life. Next step, learning to love those pushups.

Burpees used to kill me and now I love them!

Seriously, you get what you put into it. Mickey can make the workouts as challenging as you can handle. She is super-knowledgeable and can adjust the workout if you aren't able to do everything.

The camaraderie makes it more fun.  The small class sizes help keep you accountable and safe.

Give it a try if you are up for it!

3rd Annual "Toys for Tots" Workout

Enjoy Thanksgiving With Less Guilt

Let’s face it, most everyone overeats on Thanksgiving. Here’s a way to lessen the damage and help sick kids at the same time.

Reminder: Weekend Benefit For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Feb. 16th & 17th

My nephew, Matt, is heavily involved in raising money for sick kids through Penn State's THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. For the last 2 years, on the same weekend, I’ve held a Workout for St. Jude at Body & Soul to also help seriously ill kids. This year is no different.



Unfortunately, Body & Soul can't hold that many so reserve your spot. 

GROUP WORKOUT - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16th 
9:00 AM AND 10:00 AM

Mark your calendar and join me for a fun and challenging group workout session.

I now have enough sign-ups to have two sessions - one at 9:00 AM and one at 10:00 AM. Thanks! And, there's still room to bring a friend along.

Body & Soul members and friends have raised almost $10,700 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since 2005. Not Exactly the $89+ million that PSU students have raised for THON but we do pretty well for a small gym. :-)

HULA HOOP CONTEST - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17th 
10:30 AM AND 11:00 AM

How long can you keep that hoop spinning? Put your core hooping skills to the test, have some fun, and support the good work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Let's add to the Body & Soul donation this year by having some fun with hoops!

We'll be holding two contests. The first begins at 10:30 AM, and the second at 11:00 AM. The prize for each contest is a brand new, sparkly, handmade fitness hoop, valued at $35-$40! Contestants will have their hooping endurance challenged with a series of different moves. The last hooper spinning wins!

Cost to enter each contest is $10. Hoops will be provided for use during the contest - no need to bring your own - but you can if you have a favorite.


Space is limited for both the group workout and the hooping contests so, if possible, please let us know you'll be attending. Call Mickey at (717) 509-7777 to register or for more information. However, if you decide last minute that’s fine, too. Raising as much money as possible is obviously the goal!



BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Chair massage will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. Tarot readings and reiki will be offered on Sunday. You can take advantage of everything this weekend for a minimum donation of $35 (or donate just for the activities you're interested in).

Reminder: Weekend Workouts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. St. Jude shares its research and protocols with physicians and hospitals worldwide. Working together, their physicians and scientists have pioneered treatments that have pushed the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common form of childhood cancer, from 4% in 1962 to 94% today.

Celebrating Body & Soul's Anniversary By Paying It Forward

In conjunction with Body & Soul Fitness Studio's 11th anniversary on October 9th, we will be having 3 workouts during that weekend to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Qigong with Jennifer Grant, Certified Qigong Instructor.

No experience necessary.

Qigong is an exercise of slow movements linked with deep breathing to gently stretch the body and bring peace to the mind.

What's The Best Fitness Program For Me?

Everyone is different. That's not exactly breaking news but it is important to consider your strengths and weaknesses, personality, likes and dislikes, lifestyle, etc. when you're deciding upon a fitness program.

At Body & Soul Fitness Studio, I offer a variety of ways to help you meet your health and fitness goals. It's important to choose the one that's right for you.


Want personal instruction but enjoy the camaraderie of a group setting?



Looking for a challenging workout and fast results? Need accountability?

No Pink Dumbbells Boot Camp might be right for you.




Let's say you want personal instruction and accountability but your schedule won't accommodate boot camp. Grab a friend or two and do personal training. If that won't work, you can go it alone with one-on-one training.


Have a crazy schedule or just prefer to work out on your own?

A Body & Soul gym membership could be your best option. Each member receives a workout designed specifically for her, based on her personal goals, current fitness level, medical/injury issues, available time, exercise experience, etc. but you work out on your own schedule.


What if you want to exercise at home?

While I believe there are definite advantages to boot camp, personal training, or a gym membership, if you have the motivation to go it alone, I can design a program for you. Regardless of whether you have lots of equipment or none at all, I can create a balanced, effective program that's right for you.


The most important thing is to take action. Do something that fits in with your personality so that you can make it a habit.

Body & Soul's Holiday Weekend Schedule


HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 noon
Sunday: CLOSED
Monday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 noon (boot camp at 9:00 & 10:00)



Burn some extra calories before your holiday cookout, picnic or party. Join us for boot camp on Monday. Everyone is welcome. If you are not currently enrolled in boot camp, just pay $20 and I will donate it to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
